The Weekend

Friday, my little brothers class did a drive by parade for his teacher. We all had the same teacher for first grade and so the whole family went. Ms. Wanczyk was so excited to see all of us. It rained on our parade and the signs my brother and sister made got all messed up.

Saturday we had some neighbors over to swim and play games outside. Sunday was Mother’s Day. We got up and watched church on tv and she just wanted to relax at the house by the pool
And read her book. She wanted Flower Child for lunch but no one else did. So my dad went and picked up her food and then went and got the rest of our food from Whataburger. It looked a lot better than hers. We swam most of the day since that is what she wanted to do.

Cinco de Mayo

Our 2nd holiday since we have been in quarantine (our 3rd if you count St. Patricks day). My family loves mexican food so this is one we enjoy celebrating. We had some friends over for games, mexican food and swimming. It is so nice to start being around people again. We don't go anywhere outside our house just yet but we have invited a couple families over that we know have also been quarantining. Other than that, there is nothing new that is going on. Same every day. School work, maybe a walk or a swim, watch tv and play video games with my friends online.

Normalcy

I can't remember if I mentioned in the last post, but things are gradually starting to open back up. Restaurants are open with a capacity of 25% and most stores and theaters are now open as well. We have not gone to a restaurant yet. I did have an orthodontist appointment last week and that was a nice sense of normalcy. My mom could not go in with me and I did have to wear a mask. Saturday my parents let me have my girlfriend Zoe over. We went for a walk around the lake, swam and my parents made wings and we had dinner out on the patio. My sister also had a friend over, so it was nice to see other people.
My sister loves to bake (one thing I do like about her) and has been baking like crazy over quarantine. She went a friends and learned how to make macarons and has been making them everyday since. My brother also helped make some donuts the other day. It has been constant baking. I can't complain.
I am glad we only have a month left to do school work. That is about all for now.

It's been a while...

Note; I actually wrote this sooner, I just forgot to publish it.

I haven't really had much to write about. We are still at home (going on 6 or 7 weeks now). The weather has been nice out so we have spent a lot of time outside. The governor is starting to open a couple things up this week, I do not think my mom will let me go to the movies or anything just yet though. I will post a few pictures my mom has taken the past week of us hanging out outside swimming and on walks. I have enjoyed looking at the fun rocks everyone has painted in our neighborhood. There are some pretty fun ones (astros, pokemon, spider man, texans...to name a few). My little brother went to stay at my grandparents for a few days this past week too, which made for a very quiet couple of days. My grandpa feeds this squirrel every day at his house, so he comes up to him whenever he walks outside. While my brother was there, my grandpa sent me this pretty cool video of the squirrel climbing on my brothers leg. I will post that too.

Goodbye Knox

I am a little behind this week on writing. I really don't have much of an excuse, except I just forgot. We got news this week that we will not be going back to school for the rest of the year (or school year). I am not sure how this makes me feel exactly. It was my last year at Knox but all my friends will be still going to College Park with me so that makes it a little easier. I don't feel like I am missing out on anything big like high school seniors or anything, but I still actually miss being in class and my friends. Also, I didn't get to play my last season of tennis at Knox which I was looking a bit forward to playing again. I will be trying out for the tennis team at College Park next year but was hoping for the practice this season.
I haven't been doing much at the house other than our normal walks and games. My mom let me go for a bike ride with my friend Matthew for a little bit this week. It was nice to see someone else. We kept our distance and stayed on our bikes. This weekend it rained a lot so we didn't get out much. My mom did tell me the governor put out a plan to start getting back to life. I am ready to get back to normal (whatever that looks like now).

Easter!!

This is was a bit different but I actually really enjoyed how not busy it was. We usually have a super busy day of going to church and then usually out to my Aunts lake house and sometimes we even take the boat out if it is nice outside. My mom made us cinnamon rolls, ordered scones from a bakery and we had coffee/tea before church on tv. Even though we weren't going anywhere, she still made us all get dressed up. She also made us a big lunch of ham, brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and rolls. We did a zoom call with all my family! That was crazy and fun to see every one. We all went swimming afterwards and then my sister, brother and I all went on an egg hunt. It was a pretty relaxing day.

Easter Eve - April 11, 2020

My little brother has been waiting for the new Trolls movie to come out forever. It was supposed to be released yesterday at the movie theater, but since...everything is closed, they released it on demand at home. My mom found some trolls cookies to make and bought us some more movie candy and popcorn! The movie was pretty good. Today is Saturday, the day before Easter. My mom and sister are making deserts for tomorrow. They made a bunny cake and chocolate pie. Yum! Easter will be weird. We have a really big family and usually all get together for every holiday. It will be kind of strange to not be with them. We warmed the pool up again today to swim, so I am sure it will be swimming again tomorrow as well.

Birthday Celebrations! - April 10, 2020

This week was my girlfriends and my grandpa's birthday. Since we are supposed to be social distancing, we had to get a bit creative. My family met Zoe and her mom at the park for a picnic. We all just made sure to sit 6 ft apart. It is just so weird right now. At least I was able to see her and give her a birthday present.

For my grandpa's birthday, we made him some posters and did a drive by blaring the Birthday song by the Beatles. It was good to get to see some people this week, from a distance!

Since this weekend is Easter, I am sure I will have some stuff to post about!

The Weekend - April 5, 2020

The weekend, was not very busy. It rained a lot, so we couldn't even go swimming. Saturday, I think we were all ready to just get out of the house, so we drove to Katy to go to In N Out. It was a bit of a drive (about an hour each way), but what else did we have to do? The line was really long, as it usually is at In N Out, and we waited about an hour to order! Since all the insides of restaurants are closed except for takeout and delivery, we just had to eat in our car. This was probably the most exciting thing we did all weekend. It was also my first time in the car/away from my house, besides walks, in about 4 weeks. Sunday, we watched church online and watched tv and played games (the usual). I did play on my computer for a bit so that I could talk to my friends. I know...real exciting. I will attach a funny meme I found. It is the truth. Especially since I don't think we will probably be going back to school this year (or at least that is what I hear my mom saying).

Life As We Know It - April 3, 2020

It has been a few days since I have written. We had a movie night Friday. Since all the movie theaters are closed, you can rent the newly released movies on Video On Demand to watch at home. My mom bought a bunch of movie candy and popcorn and rented the movie "I Still Believe". It was a really sad movie, I was not expecting that. It had a good message though. I kind of felt that the message of the movie could kind of relate to what we are going through right now. Just because we are in an unknown time does not mean that God still isn't present. Saturday we had a game night and played Ticket to Ride. I think I should have won, and I think the rest of my family was not playing correctly. We have been watching church on Sunday mornings on tv. It is just not the same. My little brother has a hard time sitting through it and can be a bit distracting. This week they announced we would not be going back to school now until May 4 at the soonest. I did not like this news. I never thought I would be ready to go back to school, but I am. I miss my friends.

It's FRIYAY! - March 28, 2020

We made it another week in quarantine. Friday looks a little different than it used to, I am just glad I don't have to do school work for 2 days. School from home has been a little weird, I am not sure how I feel about mixing the 2. I know I have homework to do at home, but that is still different from doing all of your school at home. I do like the freedom of being able to sleep in and doing the work when I want to. My parents ordered me a new desk this week since I have been sitting in my bed all week on the laptop doing work. My computer is kept in our study, but since my dad is working from home, he has taken over the study. Here is a picture of my new workspace setup.

I am not sure what we will be doing this weekend, since there is not really anywhere we can go. We will probably just watch movies, swim and maybe order some mexican takeout. Not much different from our other weekends.
